Flying Start was founded by Managing Director, Ricky Nixon in 1994, after a successful career as a professional footballer in the Australian Football League (AFL) with the Carlton, St Kilda and Hawthorn Football Clubs.

Nixon's vision helped create a sports business that in the following years established itself as Australia 's leading football management agency. Today, Flying Start has expanded into other major areas of sports marketing, business training programs and valuable media and entertainment properties.

Today the company is a thriving multi-faceted sports business, media and events company.

Flying Start's Head Office is at Telstra Dome in Melbourne.
